Carita Miller

Carita is a dynamic independent music professional with a multifaceted career spanning artist management, podcasting, music supervision, and editorial work. As the Music Editor at Beautiful Machine Magazine, she oversees influential content while managing the careers of several artists. She is set to take on a leadership position as the Head of the Music Department at Mainstreem Media, where her extensive industry experience and passion for music will guide her efforts in shaping the next generation of talent.

With over 15 independently music-supervised films under her belt—including Black Strait Blues, Corruption, and Justice—Carita has built a reputation for her sharp curatorial instincts. Her entertainment journey began in childhood as a dancer on a Detroit TV show, which evolved into opportunities in television, radio, and commercials. Inspired by her mother, Montez Miller, a BET producer, Carita immersed herself in the business early on, interning at WJLB and working with Arista Records before helping introduce the R&B group H-Town to their first national TV appearance on BET.

Throughout her career, Carita has combined creative insight with business savvy to deliver impactful projects across the music and entertainment industries. She is a proud member of professional organizations like the Guild of Music Supervisors (associate), the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment, and the California Copyright Conference. In 2024, she became a voting member of the Recording Academy, cementing her role as a respected and influential voice in the music community.
